Office drawer essentails

I, like every millennial woman, started a new job as a Marketing Director in Dallas Tx My new office is awesome and looks over a gallery filled with beautiful artwork! && My desk that started out empty is now full of make up! (are you surprised?)  because every time I met with my new boss or a client I was constantly looking for lip gloss or some other quick fix. Lord knows when you have been sitting at your desk for hours working your little touchy off and it's meeting time, you have no idea what you look like.

Because I take the train in to work every day .... you're welcome earth! my hair and makeup suffer slightly. I keep the arsenal in my desk and I am ready for a meeting at any given moment!

Marc Jacobs AirBlush (shade, kink & kisses)
This duo is the perfect way to add a bit of color back in to those sunken coffee drained cheeks of mine. Looking fresh faced is a joke when your running round with a phone permanently glued to your face.

Two Faced Better than Sex Mascara
I have gone through my fare share of sample sized mascara for my office but too faced better than sex is the MVP. It's buildable with no flake and makes my lashes look like falsies and LASTS!

Facial Mist
I haven't found one i love  but I have about 4 in my drawer evian facial water is winning the race currently.... I'll let you know if i find something better.

Lipstick
Because we are respectable adults from the hours of 8 am to 6 pm crazy colors don't fly when we are drinking out of coffee cups and meeting with execs. I found the perfect natual color for me in the dior family #620. I'm in love with how well this matches my skin tone but be ware I am so so so so fair.... but i'll share if you really need some!

Becca Highlight (Shade, Pearl)
Highlight seems to fade on my face no matter what brand it is.... but becca is on of the longer lasting ones I have a small size of this wonder dust and I cant get enough. I recently hit pan and I'm going to have to replace this beauty.

March Ipsy Bag

I have begun a year long bundle and beauty box journey The march bag was my first month to receive ipsy ... I'm more excited now that I have seen the bag and products in person then i was when I started because I am a big fan of testing products in a full size rather than sample sizes because you just don't get the time to tell if its a must have or a let down.

Each month they send a 10 dollar bag with some surprise deluxe sample size products based on a color quiz you take on the webpage.

This month's bag is so fun. its bright and springy! I'm excited to put this in my purse / travel bag
The first thing I pulled out of my bag was the NYX butter lipstick my shade was Pops I have worn it out and to work and I love it.  This is one of the softest lipsticks I have ever worn. Very kissable .... its long lasting but It will get allllll over your coffee cups!
I have been using these colors in a natural every day eye. They are very pigmented and the color pay off is great. They are a bit shimmery so I would suggest a mat for the base of your eye.

I have not used this brush a ton yet but it is soft. However I just dont care for it. It may work better as a blending brush but It does not pack on the powder well.

Overall I am happy with this month! I will be using all of the products which is amazing for a sample package! I would love to hear what you got in your ipsy bag and if we got some of the same products!

Here is my referral code! If you join through me I receive points towards other sample size products!

Sexy with the sniffles

Winter? ... I thought you were over??? Well the cold has returned and everyone has a cough or runny nose and continues to work contaminating the rest of the world. This season is the most important time to stay healthy. As much as we all coat our hands religiously in hand sanitizer and elbow sneeze ... the sickness is inevitable.

I have found that one of the hardest things to do is feel wonderful about your beauty or self worth while you are sick. All I want to do when I am sick is sleep and sometimes it ends up in tears when I can not get rested. However we all have to get back to work and smile like a virus is not destroying our insides.

Soaking Salts

When I find myself contagious and undesirably sick, trying to contain my whooping cough, along with some Dr. prescribed meds I always soak in a warm bath mixed with some salt.
Salt soaks work wonders for your tired stressed out and over worked little body. Sick and tired is not what a woman who knows how to take care of herself wants to find looking back in the mirror.

Green Tea
When you are getting some well deserved rest I always use a little trick i learned no doubt from one of the many beauty blogs I have read over the years. Rest wet green tea bags on your eyelids while you sleep. If you can manage to stay still in your sleep this little time will relieve your eyes and you will wake with no bags or puff under your eyes. And ... Bonus if you steep some with a little honey your cough will likely improve as well !

Heatable gell wraps / rice pillows
The little magic bags are the world to me when I am sick. It never fails that during the coldest months I come down with a case of the chills!

Lotion Wipes
I received these as a gift and loved  them! Elf has some amazing sents and are only like $3.00 ... so there is no need for your body to match your dry sniffly nose.

Porcelain goes camping

Oh my poor bug bitten sun burnt, scratched, up skin! Camping might sound like an easy hike in the woods and night in a tent, but not with this girl.... My friends and I take camping to the next level. This was no glamping trip miss, oh no.

When we pulled into the camp ground I got a notion we would have a blast for the days we spent. I was right we climbed trees, hiked, built a fire, and then cooked with it! The ghost stories got better as the flasks emptied. This pre school year trip was just what the doctor ordered. Its unreal what some time outside will do for a pampered girl.

I learned some survival skills thanks to the manliest man, my main man, Charlie. Who taught me to make a tender bundle ..... (Not the fun kind of Tender)..... and start a fire then how to keep it alive. I felt like I built a sky scraper and then burnt it down... it was oddly satisfying.

Lets talk about how bug spray has a time limit and I am now tending wounds. I have several go to products I'm going to share with you today and then some newbies I have added to my med kit.

From my elbow to my ankle is one giant raspberry from falling out of the tree I decided I could climb at the ripe age of 25 yrs. I did make it up... however when I got the brightest idea to get to the tip top I hugged Mr tree all the way down.... you know ... because I love nature so much.... So I was not the first to bleed but not the last, we all got our fill of sharp plants and rocks. I was the first to get out the med kit. Only to find the normal neosporin and basic band-aids. Which I gladly used ... no doubt I needed some treatment. But I have now compiled a group of products I will always take on my out door adventures from now on.

Sun Bum Cool Down Gel
I have talked about this brand before in my sunscreen article. I can do nothing but rave about this group of products. I got a light sun burn on my calves and shoulders from the day hike in the great outdoors. Luckily for me I came home from a visit the week before to a box filled to the brim with my favorite brand! Sun Bum has the most versatile products I have ever used. This magnificent  multipurpose gel was my go to on the trip. I used it to sooth my burns and on my scrapes and rashes from mother nature. If you are going to take anything camping with you it should be this gel. I cant imagine doing anything outside without it again. && unlike the other burn gels, a little bit of sun bum goes a long way so my bottle will last for many more mishaps in the future.

Dry Shampoo
Oh the savior has sent a miracle! Thank the good lord for this product! I can sleep in my mascara  and put on BB cream to look like I naturally wake up in the middle of the wilderness as flawless as I do daily but when you share a tent with the man who has only seen you made up for dates, and at your worst you were in the gym with him ... hardly sweating because he is there & keeping it to squats and hand weights, It gets real in a hurry. There are no beauty counters or sinks in the woods ladies. So I crept out of the tent and sprayed a light layer .... ok a good amount of this glory in my hair an brushed it through to lay back on the sleeping bag and turn over with a sweet smile to wake my man, with angle reminiscent hair ofcourse.

Bug spray
I brought the regular girly quick dry off. While this product is not a bad choice and the brand works, I picked the wrong type for summers in the south. I was in deep need of some Off Deep Woods. Because the mosquitoes are the size of your diamond ring and the flys swarm like your sweet sweat is a smorgasbord. So while I thought I was prepared I was sooo wrong.

Needless to say camping went well for me.... Actually I loved being outside! Now that you have a few must haves for your next time out in nature, let me know let me know what you love about nature!

Sunny Days

As a fair skinned beauty I pride my self on keeping an even skin tone and as amazing and smile evoking as the sun is, I am constantly coating in different sunscreens and sunblocks. Of course I chose favorites. My sunscreen premieres in my daily handbag necessaries. There is a shelf in my bathroom dedicated to sunscreen and there is a long lost bottle in every beach bag I own. Point being, I want, love, & need my sunscreen.

For those summer goddesses that are kissed by the sun and don't use protection, Sunscreen is a product that absorbs or reflects some of the sun's ultraviolet(UV) radiation on the skin exposed to sunlight and thus helps protect against sunburn.

I don't have to tell you the health benefits of applying daily, but I'm going to put a little more wind in those sails. UVA & UVB protection is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Medical organizations such as the American Cancer Society recommend the use of sunscreen because it aids in the prevention of developing medical issues. Not all sun blocking products protect against UVA radiation. UVA rays can cause some dangerous conditions like melanoma and photodermatitis, so people using sunscreens may be exposed to high UVA levels without realizing it.

I find the best products are those you don't have to re apply every 30 minutes so I buy my sunscreens with a higher SPF. The number on the bottle is the amount of minutes that the product lasts, or in my case how long I have before I need to reapply.

So once I have addressed that the brand has a SPF of 50 or higher. I can add it to my sunscreen shelf.

Sun Bum

This is my absolute favorite sunscreen brand this summer! I am beyond obsessed. I've been through at least 10 bottles. They should pay me as a spokes woman because I am never without a bottle of this glorious product. It's water resistant and broad spectrum.  Not only is Sun Bum commandeered by the Skin Cancer Foundation, but its free of some of the harsh chemicals that can be rough on our gorgeous but wrinkle prone skin. So my favorite feature about this product is that it is not greasy, and after a long day playing in the sun I don't feel like I need an immediate shower. It is made with a anti aging, vitamin E formula so its very soft to the touch and doesn't make the boys feel like they cant touch your greasy skin. You can put sun bum on and then go out on the town and not look like you've baked all day. And on that note it has a clean coconut smell that is not too perfume-ish. It
layers wonderfully with scented lotion for those swanky beach villa parties I know you are all attending this summer.

Neutrogena Sport

I like this brand specifically because it lasts so long. I use the SPF 100 and I can be out for almost 2 hours without reapplying. Its a great feeling to only apply once and then forget and have fun in the sun without fussing with lotions and sprays. And of course its broad spectrum so its not leaving our skin naked. The sport formula is sweat & water resistant, which makes this my go to sunscreen for a long run or climb. and the bottle will fit in just about any small bag.. This sunscreen however doesn't play well with others. Its not one you can mix with a fruity lotion. The thick lotion provides great coverage & the spray is great for quick touch ups. It smells like regular sunscreen but when you are already a sweaty mess from a killer workout sesh there's no reason smell would bother a cute guy you met on the trail.

L'Oreal Sublime

This protector smells amazing & leaves your skin glowing. It is oil so when I use this product I have to be careful to reapply within the appropriate amount of time. It leaves skin so soft. So this is my sunset party pick if you know you wont be outside a major amount of time but still want to feel completely protected.  It gives that nice glisten to our legs that make all the boys glance last a little longer. Its also not shower invoking. You can wear this from pool to party and feel clean.  It's broad spectrum which means you are protected. But the best part about sublime is that your skin is not tacky from slathering goop on in tall day.

I own and use all of these products on a weekly basis because I refuse to let my love for the sun be reflected on my skin. I have tried so many brands that I hated for one reason or another, smell or it left me treating a sunburn. Finding a match for a specific event is not always easy but now you can take my favorites and put them to the test. Enjoy your yacht, beach, villa, sporting summer protected by the best.

Pretty & Witty

Studying takes most of a young woman's time.... and if it does not... which lets admit it to ourselves ... sometimes it does not... it is a priority that needs to be on the top of the list. In our early twenties we are the busiest we will ever be. Spending my days chasing dreams ... and flirting with a boy ... or two leaves only a few spared minutes dedicated to "me time". While I sit in my yoga pants and giant reading glasses I tell everyone are just for show... but if I didn't use I would have to walk with a cane or guide dog... I study for hours and when I take my nose from those books I often find myself with 30 minutes before I must be on a date or at a promised event.

Because I know I am on the same yacht (in the same boat) as many other women, who are studious or have very hectic work schedules, I will share several products I use to make my hair, face, and body look like Ive spent the last week held up somewhere in the Berkshires in a five star spa.

As a pampered woman I am not terribly proud of the fact that it takes about 2 and some hours to get ready when I am primping for an event. However I have mastered the 10 minute shower with a quick shave when I totally miss schedule my life and freak out because I am going to be a little late .... ok very late.
Once I've spent the danger shower with the lufa in one hand and a razor in another, there are things I do before panic sets in, while I am studying to make sure my handsome date thinks all my attention was spent on prep for the date he so cleverly planned.

ONE
Pre-Treat
Skin & Hair
I know, I have written several posts about oils and how they are gods gift to beauty. But I'm going to go ahead and spin my broken record one more time. Oils are best on clean skin but waking up to your favorite bottle of enriching beautifully scented oil will not only put you in a better mood immediately but also when showered away do not lose their benefits because they are so fast acting.

TWO
Leave on Facial Masks
I am currently wearing a Fresh Face Masks by Lush((cosmetic warrier) while I write to you! I love these but I never get the chance to grab them because you must be close to a store location because the masks are mixed in house. I'm in love with studying in a mask not only do you loose track of time letting all of the goodness soak in, you are not tempted to touch your face or rest your hand on your chin which is the reason I need the acne mask in the first place.

THREE
White Teeth
While the large conglomerates have some products that work. I, myself use Colgate's whitening toothpaste. A weekly deep white treatment is what makes my smile pearly white. Baking soda and water is "your grandmothers" quick fix for several household tragedies but I swear by it for my teeth. A weekly ritual takes no time at all and baking soda is easy to find and can be used elsewhere.  When your dates sees your coy smile at a silly joke he spouted you can be sure he will swoon.

My secret little study/ beauty routine is yours to use and expand upon. I know you will all be a little more efficent with your time management. That is what this crazy balencing act is all about. Happy, Beautiful. Young and Crazy fun! Study hard and make them swoon!

Polished Porcelain

As a traveling dame I find things along my journey that I love. From different product lines to organic beauty secrets traded on the massage tables. The little gems on the sometimes overpriced shelves of spas are some of the best measurable tools for your beauty.

I started out with my very first Clairsonic facial brush, give or take, 3 years ago. My mini brush was bought during a spa visit in Dallas Texas. I enjoyed the tool used in a facial so much my mom and I both got one! I was devastated when I thought I broke it! I called my mom hysterical because the only thing that was keeping my acne at bay was dead!

This little vibrating brush is magic. I live in west Texas where the weather is a sorority girl picking a date for formal.... indecisive... to say the least. And of course my skin takes the burnt of the trauma. This glorious tool allows my skin to glow when everyone else is flaking and hiding blemishes.

The next couple of months rolled around and I got a new one for Christmas! Thrilled, my new brush was the larger edition that allowed for a body attachment and at this point the clarisonic line had expanded to include different brush head and of course a facial line for acne and ageing skin. While I have yet to try the line of facial product, I am in love with the brush.

The different brush heads are for differing skin types. I use the sensitive head for my face because my skin will literally react harshly if i bush my hand over it to roughly. However on my body I use the original head. The best feature about these heads is they do not smell or get moldy when left in the shower. I can not stand that smell, its one of my larger pet peeves. Thankfully clairsonic's heads are easy to remove and clean.

Don't miss out on the wonderful treasures found in spas. My favorite little finds will always make me feel like gold.
