March Ipsy Bag

I have begun a year long bundle and beauty box journey The march bag was my first month to receive ipsy ... I'm more excited now that I have seen the bag and products in person then i was when I started because I am a big fan of testing products in a full size rather than sample sizes because you just don't get the time to tell if its a must have or a let down.

Each month they send a 10 dollar bag with some surprise deluxe sample size products based on a color quiz you take on the webpage.

This month's bag is so fun. its bright and springy! I'm excited to put this in my purse / travel bag
The first thing I pulled out of my bag was the NYX butter lipstick my shade was Pops I have worn it out and to work and I love it.  This is one of the softest lipsticks I have ever worn. Very kissable .... its long lasting but It will get allllll over your coffee cups!
I have been using these colors in a natural every day eye. They are very pigmented and the color pay off is great. They are a bit shimmery so I would suggest a mat for the base of your eye.

I have not used this brush a ton yet but it is soft. However I just dont care for it. It may work better as a blending brush but It does not pack on the powder well.

Overall I am happy with this month! I will be using all of the products which is amazing for a sample package! I would love to hear what you got in your ipsy bag and if we got some of the same products!

Here is my referral code! If you join through me I receive points towards other sample size products!

Sexy with the sniffles

Winter? ... I thought you were over??? Well the cold has returned and everyone has a cough or runny nose and continues to work contaminating the rest of the world. This season is the most important time to stay healthy. As much as we all coat our hands religiously in hand sanitizer and elbow sneeze ... the sickness is inevitable.

I have found that one of the hardest things to do is feel wonderful about your beauty or self worth while you are sick. All I want to do when I am sick is sleep and sometimes it ends up in tears when I can not get rested. However we all have to get back to work and smile like a virus is not destroying our insides.

Soaking Salts

When I find myself contagious and undesirably sick, trying to contain my whooping cough, along with some Dr. prescribed meds I always soak in a warm bath mixed with some salt.
Salt soaks work wonders for your tired stressed out and over worked little body. Sick and tired is not what a woman who knows how to take care of herself wants to find looking back in the mirror.

Green Tea
When you are getting some well deserved rest I always use a little trick i learned no doubt from one of the many beauty blogs I have read over the years. Rest wet green tea bags on your eyelids while you sleep. If you can manage to stay still in your sleep this little time will relieve your eyes and you will wake with no bags or puff under your eyes. And ... Bonus if you steep some with a little honey your cough will likely improve as well !

Heatable gell wraps / rice pillows
The little magic bags are the world to me when I am sick. It never fails that during the coldest months I come down with a case of the chills!

Lotion Wipes
I received these as a gift and loved  them! Elf has some amazing sents and are only like $3.00 ... so there is no need for your body to match your dry sniffly nose.

Porcelain goes camping

Oh my poor bug bitten sun burnt, scratched, up skin! Camping might sound like an easy hike in the woods and night in a tent, but not with this girl.... My friends and I take camping to the next level. This was no glamping trip miss, oh no.

When we pulled into the camp ground I got a notion we would have a blast for the days we spent. I was right we climbed trees, hiked, built a fire, and then cooked with it! The ghost stories got better as the flasks emptied. This pre school year trip was just what the doctor ordered. Its unreal what some time outside will do for a pampered girl.

I learned some survival skills thanks to the manliest man, my main man, Charlie. Who taught me to make a tender bundle ..... (Not the fun kind of Tender)..... and start a fire then how to keep it alive. I felt like I built a sky scraper and then burnt it down... it was oddly satisfying.

Lets talk about how bug spray has a time limit and I am now tending wounds. I have several go to products I'm going to share with you today and then some newbies I have added to my med kit.

From my elbow to my ankle is one giant raspberry from falling out of the tree I decided I could climb at the ripe age of 25 yrs. I did make it up... however when I got the brightest idea to get to the tip top I hugged Mr tree all the way down.... you know ... because I love nature so much.... So I was not the first to bleed but not the last, we all got our fill of sharp plants and rocks. I was the first to get out the med kit. Only to find the normal neosporin and basic band-aids. Which I gladly used ... no doubt I needed some treatment. But I have now compiled a group of products I will always take on my out door adventures from now on.

Sun Bum Cool Down Gel
I have talked about this brand before in my sunscreen article. I can do nothing but rave about this group of products. I got a light sun burn on my calves and shoulders from the day hike in the great outdoors. Luckily for me I came home from a visit the week before to a box filled to the brim with my favorite brand! Sun Bum has the most versatile products I have ever used. This magnificent  multipurpose gel was my go to on the trip. I used it to sooth my burns and on my scrapes and rashes from mother nature. If you are going to take anything camping with you it should be this gel. I cant imagine doing anything outside without it again. && unlike the other burn gels, a little bit of sun bum goes a long way so my bottle will last for many more mishaps in the future.

Dry Shampoo
Oh the savior has sent a miracle! Thank the good lord for this product! I can sleep in my mascara  and put on BB cream to look like I naturally wake up in the middle of the wilderness as flawless as I do daily but when you share a tent with the man who has only seen you made up for dates, and at your worst you were in the gym with him ... hardly sweating because he is there & keeping it to squats and hand weights, It gets real in a hurry. There are no beauty counters or sinks in the woods ladies. So I crept out of the tent and sprayed a light layer .... ok a good amount of this glory in my hair an brushed it through to lay back on the sleeping bag and turn over with a sweet smile to wake my man, with angle reminiscent hair ofcourse.

Bug spray
I brought the regular girly quick dry off. While this product is not a bad choice and the brand works, I picked the wrong type for summers in the south. I was in deep need of some Off Deep Woods. Because the mosquitoes are the size of your diamond ring and the flys swarm like your sweet sweat is a smorgasbord. So while I thought I was prepared I was sooo wrong.

Needless to say camping went well for me.... Actually I loved being outside! Now that you have a few must haves for your next time out in nature, let me know let me know what you love about nature!
